    "best" pure healing pvp Cleric

    Hello All,

I am seeking the community expertise.

My wife and I play Rift, she is a cleric. I was wondering if there is a "best" pure healing pvp cleric. Ideally very high survivability and tons of healing output.

I am seeking very thoughtful and detailed oriented explanations of the how and why for your response.

    Your input is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Most agree that using a combination of Warden with either or both Sentinel and Templar give you the best PvP options.

The reasoning behind this is because of the mobility and the lack of cast times. Any time you try to cast a big heal while being attacked it increases the length of the cast time turning a 3 second cast heal into a 5 second heal. Also it gives people opportunities to interrupt your heals or silence you before they go off.

With Warden you can keep up about 80% of your single target healing without any cast times and if you pair it with Sentinel you can have a instant cat big heal every 45 seconds vis Touch the Light/Tidal Surge/Healing Invocation and a 2 min CD that will reduce the damage to your target by 40% for 10 second. You can also take Templar for a lot of survivability and some useful tools. It really depends on how you like to play and what you are good at.

Well if you are looking to make a pure 51 point spec, each of the 3 main healing specs have their own roles and play styles.

Technically, from a mathematical standpoint though, the 51 point soul that gets the best scaling from spell power is purifier, however that is best used as a main tank healer. You can however do some weak raid heals by placing the 31 point talent on yourself and using yourself as an AoE, you can spam a heal on yourself and the overhealing becomes a raidwide AoE heal.

Warden, as already mentioned, is infamous for being an extremely mobile spec but is weak against burst damage because hots take a long time to stack up and tend to fall off easily during silences and stuns and any other form of CC in pvp.

Sentinel is a somewhat akward playstyle for me but i love it when paired with justicar. by itself, it has lots of long cast times and big heals and AoE heals. It does however have what i would consider one of the most overpowered talents of all time: Serendipity. It gives a 40% chance after every heal to lower the cast time of your next heal by 1.5 sec and when combined with Doctrine of loyalty from justicar, it pretty much means your longest cast time will be a 1.5 sec cast that can heal almost 10k fully geared. Do keep in mind though that this is a hybrid spec, not a pure or minmax spec so in pve it will not net you the highest performance. It is simply made to be the opposite of the warden, lots on instant cast burst healing but not enough mana efficiancy to maintain it for long

My recommendation is to try all three and see what feels most natural for you. You can have the greatest minmax spec but if you have no fun playing it it kinda defeats the purpose of a game eh?

Sorry for the double post but if you are still looking for new pvp healing options i have created and detailed a new hybrid healing spec and posted it as "Less healing is more? Wait what??"

It is gaining some popularity and I have started seeing more clerics using it in warfronts if you are interested.

I personally LOVE my 51 pt Sentinel build. It scales very nicely with gear (spellpower stacked of course, but does have some good viability in Crit stacked builds). It is a tad bit quirky to work with rotation wise (I can't stand macros, but that's just me). I run 51 sentinel / 15 Warden / 0 Purifier for the shield. I levelled it from 1-50 mostly solo (yes, I said it, I levelled a pure healer all the way to 50). It gave me an opportunity to work out my personal playstyle rotation and to fine tune my comfortability with the spec. I main tank heal all T1/T2 content solo now except for XCR, but that's just because I haven't finsihed my T1 Raid set yet. I also main tank heal all of our raid groups with this spec, including HK and ROTP.

I don't recommend it, however, for anyone unless you are confident in your multitasking skills. It's uber mana heavy and requires you to be on your toes at all times, but dammit, it's fun to play. AOE heals are awesome, Serendipity is boss, Touch the light gives an instant cast to any heal spell, Protect the Flock for extra mitigation on the tank, Aoe and ST cleanses for those DoTs, Healer's Haste for less cast times on long spells, etc etc etc. I'm getting tingly.

52 pt Sentinel will not top HPS charts, but as I always say, if the tank doesn't die, and you don't total fail/wipe, who cares?

But back to point: PVP heals are all about staying alive and pushing out massive amounts of ST and AOE even while you're marked and getting ganked by the opposition. Fluffy's hybrid Sent/Just spec imho, is gaining traction and is definitely a spec to consider.

Here is a viable Senticar PvP build that I use and a good discussion about macros and the build. I enjoy the utility, mobility and overall fluidity of the build.
