    Hellfire Blades and Poison Potency / Poison Mastery

    I've heard a few people say that Hellfire Blades is affected by the Assassin talents Poison Potency and Poison Mastery. Can anyone confirm this at all? I can't reliably test this myself on dummies yet, as my Rogue alt isn't 50 yet.

    It's hard to pass up both of those talents, especially considering you also get a weapon enchant as well that you can put another point or two in to get a 5% damage boost that's basically up all the time.

    Mortif Buffs. (Bard)

    How the h*ll do you bards keep the Mortif's up? Is there a macro or anything? 'cause that would be very handy! I have a level 48 rogue (assassin/bard) playing mostly bard while doing Warfronts or Dungeons but I always have problems with having all the mortif's up

    In dungeons on some boss fights if we say the first one in AP (if everyone knows that fight) Im refreshing my mortifs when you hide behind the spike. Trying to find moments to do it in every boss fight if I see one of the mortifs is going under 5 sec's I always try to refresh them.

    So to my question.
    Is there a macro for it?!

    Not really as all the Motif's have instant GCD. You can create specific Macro's for each motif which will REMIND you to cast new ones, but you'll need to check out the Macro guide listed somewhere here on the Rogue forum. Sorry, I don't have a link.

    Since I try to have all my motif's up all the time I just macro the first motif in my rotation with.

    6 MOTIF'S ABOUT TO FADE!!!


    with "6" being a private channel I created for only myself. so when I see motif's about to fade I know I have 5 seconds to finish up what I'm doing and began my 30sec motif rotation again.

    There's no in-game way to macro it. I use a razer naga, so I have the three "stat" motifs (the ones that proc resonance) macro'ed at the mouse-level to one button (press it and it casts all three with 10ms second delay between them to accomdate lag), then have the two heal macros (hot and increased heals) macro'ed at mouse-level to another button.

    It may not be ideal, but if you've got a mouse or keyboard capable of macro'ing maybe that will help you. I personally plan on continuing to use this, but stealing Clearthought's idea and having the last macro in either chain scream at me (so a macro'ed macro).

    We'll let me start saying that i'm in love with rogue class. I was a rogue for 5 years in world of warcraft, and the playstyle and class i love. i am used to not being the top dog and i'm totally fine with that, honestly it makes anyone who plays a rogue better skill wise. (not offending others classes)

    So i been working my butt off and getting use to the game and understanding it. What i came to is i understand it but i'd like input from you or experts, so i will more understand my class and hopefully make myself a better rogue who won't give us a bad name. I must say that i want to be major assassin. so assassin/whatever/whatever. I'm digging the riftstalker also .

    Let the questions begin

    Okay, i did some homework on builds rotation and i got a lot questions that i'd like to get further knowledge.

    I'm using this for a pve spec

    Questions about it. How do you feel about it and am i going the wrong way?

    Rotation, i heard so many it was mix and match but depending on the mob some time one rotation i'd love lets say 7-8% hp, other times that rotation it could be 25% a mob.


    I am currently using this rotation. Expose weakness, puncture, impale, savage strike savage strike savage strike final blow (3-4 combo pts). Now i understand after impale i should use foul play, but has cool down i just want the mob dead + bleeding hardcore.

    Now my other rotation i tried, a lot of 50 rogues who are assassin preach this too me.

    Expose>Paral>Puncture>savage strike>final blow>savage strike>savage strike savage strike> final blow


    Now i tend to like the bleed better i can kill much faster, but i hate to be using what works for me now (40) and when hit 50's it will be a failure.



    Now pvp, what can i say about this. I love it but once i step foot into WF it's hell! ganking and world pvp i am in love with it, it's my passion . This my pvp spec and i'm not really vibing it. I do better in pvp with my pve spec currently (so im doing something wrong)

    Same thing with rotation, every 50 said that bleed crap won't work only on warriors. But currently at (40) i can kill 45-46 1v1 and it's the bleed that does it. i tried there way seems they get me every time.


    General questions

    Poisons, im using vir and lethal but i see that mixed feeling. i use vir over leaching simply the damage i find better than what i get out of the heal atm.

    Any tips tricks basic pvp stuff I'd appreciate it. My spelling is bad because I'm currently in college class right now bored out of my mind.



    remember anything that will help that would be sweet, also im addicted to assassin category any more understand of the skill tree's that might be hard to understand just let me hear it. Thanks you rogue players

    For all you who think Rogues need work, here's some good news!

    1. In response to growing community concern it was announced today that the Rogue calling will be completely revamped in 1.2

    Here's a taste of some of their new abilities:
    Aggregious Throw: Hurls a cardboard box at your opponent for 5 damage causing them to laugh at you and attack with renewed vigour.

    StunMart: Opens an Auction House window allowing you to shop while transmorgified, stunned or rooted.

    Bodyguard: Instantly transports you behind the nearest friendly Pyromancer.

    Improved Bodyguard: Additionally sends a tell to the Pyromancer asking him to kill your opponent for you.

    Blazing Blades: Barrages all enemies within 7 metres with a set of firey blades that does no damage but has a really cool spell effect.

    Smoke and Mirrors: Causes you to leap about wildly from one side of your opponent to the other doing no damage but making you appear artful and threatening.

    Shady Dealings: Disguises you as a warrio. lasts 5 mins. Entering combat will break this effect.

    Feigned Bluff: Hypnotises all raid members causing them to believe Rogues are useful. Lasts 6 months. Levelling another character to 50 will cancel this effect.

    BroShot: Fires a piercing arrow at the enemy with a note attached saying "If my bro was here he'd kill you." Also causes the enemy to pull the arrow out of their armor.
    A spokesperson explains the massive make-over:

    "The mistake we made was building a calling thay catered to good or better-than-average players. We agree with the community - Rogues should l2play. This new set of abilities should get rid of all but the very best. And if they really can play, they shouldn't find these 'fixes' a problem.

    We are a little worried that Bright Wizards .... er sorry Pyromancers ... and Warriors won't have any real players to epee to, but we're also looking at revamping NPC reactions to compensate. There's some really exciting stuff ahead!"

    i would like to see the assasin rogue doing more damage, or should i say damage should be more equalled across all classes. As of right now i am truely discussed with tha amount of damage my rogue does compared to other classes as a assasin. I have no chance against a warlock and i know how to pvp from my gladiator days in wow. I truely hate to run up on any class alone in pvp except another rogue.

    Angry So many finishers, so little understanding-BD/AS/RS Build needs advice

    Hi all,
    I am having fun and seem to leveling well with my build, but I have a total of 5+ finishers and they all seem pretty good. I need opinions on which I should use the most etc, as there is never much time to use more than maybe 2 on most 1v1 and 2+ for multiple mobs.

    Final Blow-straight biggest DPS no combo points
    False Blade-adds 5% dodge (good for Reprisal react)
    Guarded Steel-adds 30% armor value increase (seems to crit a bit)
    Dauntless Strike-adds crit chance of 5% (I love the big shiny words when it crits)
    Annihilate- adds increasing attack power that gets more as you level etc (same as above)

    Not to mention Compound Attack for multiples (up to 3)

    Honestly-I like a challenge and have been using them all but I see no rhyme or reason to when or where is better. I actually wish I had LESS choices as I'm old, cranky, impatient and like a clear choice or 2.

    No math please, just opinions would be appreciated.

    Bard question

    I know that things that say "When you heal" work for cadence and our verse healing spell, so I purchased a second Flawless Source Machine, but are they really worth it? Unlike cadence, at least from what i've seen the heals aren't smart heals, so there is little way to control them. I also bought the one that shields people when you heal them, sure, in a 5 man encounter with AE damage to the whole party it might be nice, but how good are these things in a raid setting now that we don't heal the whole raid? So I guess the heart of my question would be, would the CHANCE to heal someone who needs it be better than just having raw stats in your focus? Any thoughts?
