For every dungeon you encounter during your journey to the level cap, there is a second, more difficult, version for players at level 50. These dungeons are called “Expert” Dungeons. Ten in all, they are divided into two tiers; the first tier is aimed at players who have just recently hit level 50 and the second tier is geared towards those who have spent time in Tier 1 Expert Dungeons.

For the purpose of this guide, Foul Cascade is considered a Tier 1 Expert Dungeon. General requirements for all Tier 1 dungeons include a Tank with at least 50 Toughness, a credible healer and an off-healer. The Tank will generally be a Warrior due to the lack of Rogue Tank gear available at the onset of Tier 1 Dungeons. Healers will consist of Clerics mostly where your best off healer will be a Chlormancer. This does not mean you will not be able to use a Bard or Justicar as an off-healer or a Chloromancer as a main healer.

Video Guide:

All expert dungeons offer new challenges, more bosses and sometimes additional areas to explore. In Foul Cascade you will find two additional bosses, but the dungeon itself is not expanded. This guide will go over each boss fight and what to expect during each encounter.

Krasimir Barinov
Like normal mode, it does not matter which order you do the first three bosses. So for this guide we’ll work our way clockwise starting to the left as you enter the dungeon. The Krasimir fight is essentially the same with a few twists. He starts off with the same three add waves, however Krasimir buffs more of them so they become more difficult.

Once the waves are defeated Krasimir again transforms into an undead lich and the second phase begin. In expert he does more damage. He applies DOTs that need to be removed. He does ground based aoe attacks that you have to move out of and he randomly casts direct damage spells on party members. There isn’t much strategy to this fight other than healing through it and surviving.

Countess Surin Skenobar
Surin Skenobar gets much harder in expert. If you recall in normal mode, she shoots players, then teleports around shooting people. In expert she does a bit more. Not only does she shoot the tank for a lot of damage, when she teleports around she drops bombs at the feet of her target that you will have to run away from. She also casts Hail of Bullets which is a wide ranged area of effect spell.

Again the fight is all about surviving. As long as you move out of the range of the dropped bomb, you don’t have to worry about much strategy.

Sparkwing
At this point you can choose to do the first additional boss in Foul Cascade. Sparkwing loops around the instance, but this is the easiest place to target him and take him down. Tank the boss out in the open and have all the ranged player hide behind a nearby pillar or rock. When Sparkwing begins to cast his Wrath spell have everyone line of site him. Outside that all you need to worry about is random air based attacks.

Matron Verosa
This fight is pretty much the same as normal but the damage is much more heavy. The AOE damage isn’t significant anymore and must be avoided. Make sure you avoid Gurze’s cleave and stand behind Lesch to avoid getting charged. The charge could one shot a entry level player.

Remember, when initiating this fight, tank Verosa off to the side before she goes immune. She will still attack any nearby player.

Once Matron Verosa becomes active in the last phase of the fight she casts Death Storm in addition to her other normal abilities. This spell is a frontal, knockback, damaging aoe that can be line of sited. Use the terrain to your advantage and stand near the pile of rocks to avoid getting hit.

Tephra Lord Maficros
Once all the bosses are cleared it’s time to initiate the Death Rift event in the center of the map. Clear all the trash around it and let it start. The first phase is a bunch of spider-like mobs that you’ll have to clear. The second phase will be a series of earth/magma elementals and then finally Tephra.

Throughout this event you’ll have to avoid eruptions on the ground that do damage.

Tephra is an easier fight. There aren’t many tricks, most of what he does is a frontal knockback attack. Avoid the eruptions on the ground and don’t get cleaved.

Queen Vallnara
This fight is the same fight as the normal-mode version just less forgiving. For those that don’t know, the Queen drops ground based AOE attacks periodically that you have to step out of, she also randomly charges someone and plants an egg in them. When the counter runs out an add will spawn. This is timed so if you take too long you will have to deal with more and more adds if you can’t kill them fast enough. She also poisons the tank.
